Letter of Support for Expo 2031 Minnesota, USA from United States Senator Tina Smith

April 17, 2024

I write to express my strong support for EXPO 2031 LLC as they lead Minnesota's bid to host an A1 World Horticultural Exposition in the United States. The EXPO 2031 theme of "Human/Nature: Where People and Horticulture Meet" is directly connected to Minnesota's history in horticulture. The United States of America has never hosted an A I World Horticulture Exhibition. Minnesota is ready to change that.

Horticulture is a multi-billion-dollar industry with deep roots here in our state. As the home of global food companies, premier university and USDA research facilities, and a long horticultural tradition, I am confident that Minnesota will masterfully showcase American horticulture to national and international audiences.

I support your recognition and approval of the EXPO 2031 LLC application as directed by 22 USC 2802 and 15 CFR 310.3. Upon your recognition, the A1 World Horticultural Exposition application may move through approval process with the International Association of H01iicultural Producers (AIPH) and Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

I thank you for your thorough consideration of the EXPO 2031 LLC team's Expo 2031 application for "Human/Nature: Where People and Horticulture Meet." Their team has worked diligently and enthusiastically to celebrate and promote United States horticulture domestically and around the world.
