What is Horticulture?

Simply put, Horticulture is the science and art of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, or ornamental plants.

Horticulture is a subcategory of Agriculture and is governed in the U. S. by the United States Department of Agriculture - the USDA

The USDA defines horticulture as a branch of agriculture that involves growing plants for food, medicine, and aesthetics. The USDA also considers horticulture to be a specialty crop, along with fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, and nursery crops

While Expo 2031 will lead its design with horticulture, we will include regenerative agriculture, green industry and broader agriculture innovation in our educational programming.
