Expo 2031 at Cultivate '26

July 11-14, 2026

Expo 2031 Minnesota, USA

A Once-in-a-Generation Global Stage

for American Horticulture

Introduction for AmericanHort / Cultivate ’26 Attendees

Expo 2031 Minnesota, USA will welcome the world to a six-month international horticultural exposition centered on the theme:

Human / Nature

Where Humanity and Horticulture Meet

Expo 2031 is being developed as America’s first A1 International Horticultural Exposition — a global gathering designed to showcase the power of plants, people, innovation, and place. It will bring together countries, companies, growers, designers, researchers, educators, civic leaders, tourism partners, cultural organizations, and millions of visitors to explore how horticulture shapes the future of food, water, climate, health, homes, cities, landscapes, and communities.

For the American horticulture industry, Expo 2031 is more than an event. It is a national platform.

It is an opportunity to show the world what American growers, breeders, greenhouse operators, nurseries, garden retailers, landscapers, suppliers, technology companies, educators, and plant innovators make possible every day.

The USA Pavilion: America’s Horticulture Heart

At the center of Expo 2031 will be the USA Pavilion, America’s national showcase and the gateway to the Expo experience.

The USA Pavilion will interpret the Expo theme through the idea of the American Dream — reimagined for a Human / Nature future.

It will show that the American Dream is not only built through homes, infrastructure, innovation, and opportunity. It is also grown through landscapes, gardens, food, water, biodiversity, health, stewardship, and community.

The Pavilion is envisioned around three featured areas:

Story
An interactive theater experience telling America’s story through landscapes, people, innovation, culture, food, home, and possibility.

Nature
A Living Laboratory / glass house centerpiece demonstrating horticulture as living infrastructure for food, water, pollinators, health, climate adaptation, restoration, and beauty.

Community
A partner activation, hospitality, education, business, office, and diplomatic platform where companies, states, institutions, and global guests gather.

The Living Laboratory will serve as the Pavilion’s horticultural heart — a place where plants are not simply displayed, but shown as essential to human life.

Five Climate Zones, One National Story

Expo 2031 will organize its horticultural experience through five climate zones:

Arid. Tropical. Temperate. Continental. North Star.

These zones create a powerful opportunity for the American green industry to demonstrate regional plant expertise, climate-ready varieties, resilient growing systems, pollinator habitats, native plants, controlled-environment production, water-wise landscapes, food crops, cold-climate horticulture, and consumer garden solutions.

Why This Matters to Cultivate Attendees

Expo 2031 should be shaped by the industry that grows it.

AmericanHort and Cultivate attendees represent the people and companies needed to bring the USA Pavilion and Expo 2031’s horticulture story to life:

  • Growers can help produce the living collections, seasonal displays, edibles, native plants, annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, and specialty crops.

  • Breeders can showcase climate-ready, pollinator-supporting, consumer-inspiring plant varieties.

  • Greenhouse operators can demonstrate controlled-environment growing, automation, food production, floriculture, and resilient supply.

  • Nurseries and landscape firms can help shape climate-zone gardens, public realm, legacy plantings, and future living landscapes.

  • Garden retailers can translate Expo inspiration into take-home plant programs, garden kits, consumer education, and national retail campaigns.

  • Suppliers and technology companies can demonstrate the systems behind the plants — containers, substrates, irrigation, structures, automation, sensors, logistics, labels, tools, and services.

  • Educators and young professionals can help use Expo 2031 to inspire the next generation of horticulture careers.

The Invitation

Expo 2031 is inviting the American horticulture industry to help build the USA Pavilion’s horticulture heart.

This is not only a sponsorship opportunity. It is a chance to help define how the world sees American horticulture in 2031.

Together, we can create a platform that grows more gardeners, elevates growers and plant professionals, inspires future talent, advances climate-ready horticulture, strengthens public understanding of plants, and demonstrates why horticulture is essential infrastructure for the future.

The American Dream is not only built.

It is grown.
