Led by SRF Consulting Group, the Architect Consortium will make Minnesota’s Expo the most inclusive and sustainable world's fair to date.

Minneapolis, MN – September 3, 2025 – Expo 2031 USA today announced the formation of its official Architect Consortium, led by SRF Consulting Group, one of the nation’s premier planning, engineering, and design firms. The consortium will shape the architectural vision and master planning of the first International Horticultural Exposition in U.S. history, taking place in Minnesota in 2031.
The Architect Consortium brings together some of the region’s most respected firms to collaborate on a global stage, ensuring Expo 2031 reflects Minnesota’s leadership in design, innovation, and sustainability. In addition to SRF Consulting Group, consortium members include:
4RM+ULA Architects – Known for award-winning cultural and civic architecture, 4RM+ULA brings a strong record of community-centered design with national recognition for inclusive and innovative public spaces.
HCM Architects – With deep expertise in educational and institutional design, HCM Architects specializes in spaces that inspire learning, collaboration, and long-term functionality.
LSE Architects – Renowned for large-scale public projects, LSE Architects brings a strong portfolio of design for civic institutions, hospitality, and entertainment venues, with a focus on accessibility and user experience.
Miller Dunwiddie – A leader in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, Miller Dunwiddie contributes expertise in blending contemporary innovation with Minnesota’s architectural heritage.
Oertel Architects – Recognized for its strong design in community and recreational facilities, Oertel Architects adds expertise in creating welcoming, multi-generational spaces that strengthen community engagement.
Together, these firms—under SRF’s leadership—will focus on Expo site planning, pavilion concepts, visitor experience design, and legacy infrastructure. Their work will ensure that Expo 2031 is not only an extraordinary six-month global event but also a transformative investment in Minnesota’s future.
