INDUSTRY SECTORS
Expo 2031 Minnesota, USA is being designed and delivered through one of the most comprehensive, future-focused governance structures ever created for a U.S.-hosted international exposition.

To meet the standards of an A1 International Horticultural Exhibition (recognized globally as a World’s Fair in the United States), we have established an ecosystem that brings together global experts, industry leaders, civic partners, and investor-partners to shape every dimension of the Expo experience.

Each sector plays a vital role in delivering a world-class horticultural exposition and ensuring that the Expo’s long-term legacy—the Future Living District—advances innovation, community benefit, sustainability, and global collaboration.

Expo 2031 convenes the

TRANSLATING GHC WORK INTO EXPO DESIGN

SEMI-ANNUAL FORESIGHT SESSIONS
Expo 2031 Leadership & Future iQ will convene twice-annual foresight sessions designed to support and unify the Expo 2031 Sector Strategy & Design process. These sessions function as high-level “thinking labs,” where sector leaders, subject-matter experts, and strategic partners step back from day-to-day planning to explore future trends, test assumptions, and align around a shared vision for the Expo site and Legacy District.
Using structured scenario planning and data-driven foresight tools, Expo leadership and Future iQ will help Official Expo Partners translate big-picture insights about horticulture, agriculture, technology, health, tourism, and future living into clear priorities and design directions.

Foresight sessions will culminate in a set of integrated, sector-aligned design briefs that guide the next phase of work. These briefs will distill emerging trends, visitor experience goals, economic development opportunities, and legacy outcomes into practical parameters for master planning, pavilion concepts, programming, and innovation pilots across the site.
Over time, the twice-yearly cadence ensures that all Expo 2031 sector work remain strategically aligned, future-focused, and coordinated—so that Official Expo Partner contributions add up to a cohesive, world-class A1 International Horticultural Exposition and a future living district that endures long after 2031.
